Made By: This pure tassar silk handwoven stole is a celebration of cloth, nature and culture. Finest quality Vidarbha Tassar is sourced from Sankusare ji who runs a land to loom initiative in responsible seri culture in Maharashtra. These were then hand printed in Batik technique using natural Indigo dyes, at Shakil ji’s workshop in Gujrat who has carried on this heritage technique practiced by 6 previous generations in his family. He, along with his family 6 family members and 7 other artisans run the workshop in Mundra, Gujrat. He is infusing this ancient art with his eco-friendly approach and contemporary design sensibility, it comes as a no surprise then that we hit off with him and it has been a total pleasure interacting and collaborating with him.
