This pure linen handwoven saree is a celebration of cloth, nature and culture. We worked with highly skilled weaver artisans from the Nabdwip region to hand weave this fine 100 count pure linen saree. This was then tie-dyed in Shibori technique by Zuber Khatri ji from Bhuj, using iron fillings to achieve the black brown shades. The pattern seen here is called Machi Kata ( fish skeleton)This saree honors both the planet and the people in its use of handloom, sustainable linen and chemical free dyes. Shibori is an ancient Japanese technique of tie dying. This saree is both timeless and trend less in its appeal, thereby making it a lasting addition to your wardrobe!

Care: Green dry cleaning or separate hand-wash in cold water and mild detergents. Some color may wash off in first few washes. Thats the beauty of natural Indigo, it changes and evolves just as the wearer, over time. Avoid frequent washing, reverse dry in shade and iron on reverse is recommended to preserve the beauty of this fabric.

Made By: This saree was hand-woven by highly skilled weaver artisans from the Nabdwip region in West Bengal. This was then Shibori dyed by Zuber Khatri ji from Bhuj. Zuber Ji’s family has been practicing the ancient tie dye technique of Bandhni for about 6 generations. He attended Kala Raksha Design School in 2003 and has since specialized in combining Shibori and Bandhni techniques. His wife and extended family all help in this family business. He also employs women kaarigars from surrounding area for the intricate Bandhni work he creates.
