Made By: This saree was hand-woven by highly skilled weaver artisans from the Nabdwip region in West Bengal. This was then Shibori dyed by Zuber Khatri ji from Bhuj. Zuber Ji’s family has been practicing the ancient tie dye technique of Bandhni for about 6 generations. He attended Kala Raksha Design School in 2003 and has since specialized in combining Shibori and Bandhni techniques. His wife and extended family all help in this family business. He also employs women kaarigars from surrounding area for the intricate Bandhni work he creates.

Shibori: Shibori is a Japanese way of resist dyeing textiles using strings and other materials to tie the fabric to create a variety of interesting patterns.
